FY2025 Public Diplomacy Funding, U.S. Embassy Santiago
Length of Performance Period: Proposed programs should be completed by December 31, 2026, with limited exceptions.
Award Amounts: Awards may range from a minimum of $35,000 to a maximum of $75,000, with limited exceptions.
Program Description:
The U.S. Embassy Santiago Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) of the U.S. Department of State is making funding available through its Public Diplomacy Grants Program for projects from September 1, 2025, December 31, 2026.
This is an Annual Program Statement describing our funding priorities, strategic themes, and the procedures for submitting requests for funding. Please carefully follow all instructions below.
- Step 1 – Complete an online Statement of Interest (SOI) to communicate your proposed project idea and objectives clearly and concisely. After merit review selected applicants will be invited to move to
- Step 2 – upon request, submit a full and formal grant proposal. These will also undergo another merit review before final funding decisions.
Between Steps 1 and 2, applicants may take steps to register in required systems that enable issuance of U.S. Federal funds should they be selected for grant funding.
Purpose of Grants Program:
The U.S. Department of State provides funding for well-conceived projects that support U.S. Embassy Santiago’s strategic priorities in Chile. All proposed Project should:
1. strengthen bilateral ties between the United States and Chile.
2. include a clear public diplomacy element that promotes increased understanding of the United States, its policies, or perspectives among the Chilean public by incorporating U.S. expert(s), organization(s), technology, methods, sources, or institution(s); and,
3. state how they support efforts to make America stronger, safer and/or more prosperous.
Proposals should address one or more of the following priority program objectives:
- Foster mutual economic prosperity.
- Enhance institutional cooperation in science, engineering, technology, and advanced education.
- Cultivate security, democracy and democratic institutions, free speech, human rights, rule of law and anti-corruption.
- Bolster resilience against disinformation, stop censorship or the suppression of information and enhance free speech.
Before applying, applicants should review all the terms and conditions and required certifications that will apply to this award to ensure that they will be able to comply.
To be eligible to receive an award, by the time of issuance any applicant organization must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number issued via www.SAM.gov as well as a valid registration with www.SAM.gov. Note this is not required to submit a SOI.

-10/05/2025: Fecha límite para informar a la Dirección de Investigación, sobre la participación en el concurso, completando el Formulario de Iniciativa de Proyectos (FIP) a través del sistema SIVRIDT.

-28/05/2025: Plazo máximo de la VRIDT, para solicitar mejoras o ajustes a los proyectos.
-30/05/2025: Plazo máximo para enviar su postulación a través de la plataforma del concurso.
-30/06/2025: Plazo máximo para respaldar (subir) los documentos postulados del concurso en el sistema SIVRIDT.
